Really, Lord?! I am so blown away by your blessing me with William, Ayden, Brooklyn, and Chelsea. I love this family. You, Lord, are the giver and you are the true blessing and you are the true treasure. Teach me to love you above all else in every moment.

Ayden didn’t have preschool on Friday, so I wasn’t able to go to the grocery store. We left Friday afternoon for the UGA/FL game…so today I HAD to go to the store! It worked! The babies were so good, and a gentleman at the store gave Ayden a balloon. (I think he felt sorry for us!)
I snapped a photo because we were quite the spectacle!

So, funny things happen when you give me an iPhone and leave me alone with my babies. Here are some sweet moments we shared while we were waiting for William to get home from work.
Chelsea had just finished a snack and was chilling out in her high chair.
Then, Ayden discovered the front facing camera… This proved to be a very fun mommy/Ayden bonding experience!
After we made our funny faces, he wanted to play outside. He has his own Cars lawn chair that he likes to sit in.
Then, he wanted to climb into the big lawn chair and put up his hood. I promise his did this all on his own…and this is the pose he made…a picture is worth a thousand words…
Brooklyn got tired of waiting for daddy to come home…
But, Ayden wanted her to play instead of nap…so he decided to wake her up…
I love my babies! And I love this life that the Lord has given me. So many blessings…and so much to show William when he gets home !

We usually spend Mondays at home catching up on housework and getting ready for whatever the week hold. This morning began with one of my favorite treats! Oreos and coffee were meant to be together!!
Recently, we removed the baby gates going into our kitchen and dining rooms. We have enjoyed having it this way, but of course, it gives Ayden a lot more freedom. I heard something going on and then it got a little to quiet in there. I came in just in time to find Ayden with my chewing gum! He had climbed a dining room chair and grabbed my Bible study bag that was sitting on the table and helped himself to a new treat…what a silly, curious boy!
Once the laundry had begun, I brought a load down to fold. Ayden loves to help out!
Then, Ayden enjoyed his favorite lunch: peanut butter and apples!!
…which clearly tuckered him out…

So I have to brag on my brother-in-law, Mitch. Check out this awesome article about his dog and field training: http://americustimesrecorder.com/local/x1372399558/Local-teen-has-heart-discipline-for-sport.
Mitch, we are so proud! We love you so much. You are an incredible guy!

So…there are several snapshots to share! On Thursday, Ayden, the girls, and I went to Chick-Fil-A for a play date with a former college roommate and her 4 year old daughter. Ayden had the best time playing with her. She was so sweet to him. Her mother and I had lots to catch up on too! Just say the words, “Chick-Fil-A†and Ayden gets super excited…as you can see!
On Fridays, Ayden goes to preschool in the morning. He LOVES it and so do I because it gives me a chance to get out with the girls and get some errands run. Friday morning was chilly here, so the girls were bundled up in their new coats from their great-grandmother. We had the best time…doing our essential errands and meeting a friend for a “girls day†lunch.
On Saturday, Ayden tried on his Halloween costume. Last year, William’s mother gave me this costume that William’s younger brother wore. It was obviously too big last year, but fits him perfectly now! He LOVED wearing this!! He did not want to take it off. At first, I was concerned that he wouldn’t like the hat, but that was his favorite part. He was so upset when I made him take it off. I think he’s going to have a great time this Halloween!
Later on Saturday, some of my dearest friends from college came for a long-awaited, much-needed visit. There were a couple of us missing (Samantha & Andrea), which made it not quite the same, but we had a fantastic time! Ayden especially loved all the attention!! These ladies have no idea how much they mean to me! The Lord has used each one of them to literally change my life. They are the most incredible women I know!
Love y’all…today was just perfect!

Sometimes I find it difficult to blog or update people on what is happening with our family because much of what we do seems so mundane to me. I want to try to take at least one photo everyday of something that we are doing…no matter how simple or mundane it seems. I don’t take enough pictures of my sweet ones so this will give me a reason to whip out the camera!
So here goes…we had a very normal day at home today. Mondays we don’t usually get out unless we plan something special….or unless we run out of formula…which is exactly what happened! I try to always stock up and plan ahead, but when I woke up I realized that I didn’t have enough to make it through the day. So, we loaded up the crew and headed to Target. I’m sure I was a spectacle pushing a double stroller down the aisles with Ayden on my hip! Unfortunately (or maybe fortunately) I don’t have a picture of this! We were successful in our quest, but I hope I don’t have to make a trip like that again.
Later in the evening when I was getting the girls ready for bed, Ayden was asking for some more milk. Since I was occupied I told him to ask William to get him some more. We are working with him to automatically say please and thank you when he asks for something. He took his cup over to William, held it up and said, “More.†William replied with, “What do you say?†Ayden was so confused an said, “More?!†We went back and forth like this a few times. Finally, William said, one last time, “How do you ask?†Ayden put his palms up, shrugged his shoulders, and said, “Ask?†It was the most precious thing. We laughed and told him to say, “Please!†Then he figured out what we were after and said, “Please!†and “Thank you!†once he had gotten his milk. One day it will click. He is so cute and sweet. He tries so hard to be polite. We are so incredibly proud of how he’s growing.
So there is is…a little snapshot into our world.
Thanks, Lord, for these three sweet miracles! We love them so much, but we remember they are yours…and so are we!

So, I have always liked the song, “Lead Me†by Sanctus Real, but last night I watched the story behind the song. I was so encouraged and moved by what the author did to reclaim his family for the Lord’s glory. Our marriages and our families are worth fighting for. They come first – over the job, the ministry, or whatever else is competing for our attention.

This morning is so incredibly blissful…how I would love to spend each morning. Don’t get me wrong, I have a blast on the weekends when we travel, but there is something sweet about staying around home. I woke up and had some great time with the family, and am sitting in Starbucks about to enjoy a cup of coffee with a new friend. And, we will still get to experience the joys of Georgia football…just watching them this evening from our living room.
Perhaps my most favorite part about Saturdays is that William is home, our family is together, and there is rarely an agenda. We can pretty much just do whatever we want and enjoy one another…which is much needed after a week of stressful work, places to go, deadlines to meet, and a whole host of other things that tempt us to worry. It’s sort of an art to enjoy one another the way we do on a leisurely Saturday during the week in the midst of all the chaos. But, isn’t that what we’re supposed to do? That is what we should be about.
Last night got a little crazy in our house. Evenings are usually “fussy†times for our little ones, but last night “fussy†was definitely an understatement. All three of them were, for their own little reasons, screaming at the their lungs’ maximum capacity. William was being so patient, but after a stressful day at work, I think he was hoping for a little slice of peace or maybe just a moment of quiet when he got home. So, I made the decision to take everyone for a ride. Car rides are great…they generally do the trick. Everyone can get out and shift their focus onto something else. And, it worked! When we got home, it was time to start getting ready for bed.
This whole situation made me think. I want to be able to enjoy my sweet family and not get frustrated after a long week when we have a Friday night meltdown. That’s where the beautiful mystery of grace enters. It’s there all the time. In the moments of peace and quiet and in the moments of screaming and meltdowns. It gives patience and refocuses the tension to the cross…where our focus belongs each minute.
I am so thankful for His grace. I am thankful for this crazy, unpredictable, adventurous time in our family. You never know what will happen next. But no matter what happens, His grace will be there. I want to choose that over whatever else I am tempted to cling to because it is completely sufficient.

Today I made dinner for some friends who just welcomed a new baby girl into their family. She is so sweet and precious. When I kissed her tiny face, something strange happened, and I mused to myself that I might like to have another baby! Am I crazy? Is that weird? I’m not saying that I am ready to be pregnant right now, but maybe sometime within the next few months. We will see what the Lord has in store. I am beyond content with how incredibly He has blessed us, and if it is His will for our family to be complete, then I am supremely happy. However, if He desires for our family to continue to grow, I am all in for the adventure!
